Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or page in a search engine’s results.  Generally speaking, the higher ranked search results appear to achieve more visits from the search engine's users. SEO can target different kinds of searches, including image and video searches. 

 

SEO strategies consider how search engines work, what people search for, the actual search terms or keywords typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience. Optimizing a website in order to get more traffic based on search engine results, may involve editing its content and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and key phrases, and removing barriers.  “Search engine optimizers” are organizations that provide SEO services.
